Run
Comments: This was my first marathon since I began running last year. I have run 3 halves durring that time and been looking for a sub 2, but always came up short. The race went as well as I can expect given my inexperience. I PR'ed at the half, and nearly had that sub 2 (my best set last month was 2:06) but by the 20 mi mark I just ran out of steam. The last 6 miles took me nearly as long as the first ten. I certainly didn't pace myself well!! What would you do differently?: All in all two PR's in one day (First Marathon has to be a PR!!) I cant complain. Hopefully I will learn a better strategy with experience. Post race
Warm down: Ate the contents of the goody bag, except the soggy bagel, stretched a bit and waited for my ride home What limited your ability to perform faster: In experience, as you can clearly see from the splits. Event comments: I have to say I love this race, both the half and the full make for a great day. Lots of racers, spectators and support along the route. Last updated: 2010-11-22 12:00 AM

Got up aroung 6AM and had my usual breakfast, a bagel with peanut butter as well as a large cup of coffee. This year I was smart enough not to drive and had my son drop me off.
Walked to the start and basically waited for the starting gun.
