Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:45, usual AM routine of coffee, bagel w/PB and a banana. Dis some roller and easy stretching
Event warmup:

none
Swim
  • 13m 32s
  • 598 yards
  • 02m 16s / 100 yards
Comments:

With the lack of training just went out to have fun and be steady, did better than I thought I would. Planned for a 14-15 T1 mat time. Had a few issues with swimmers I was drafting stopping and running into them. Also, after 1st buoy had the luck getting stuck behind a guy doing full breast stroke and to go wide around him. He was pissing off a lot of swimmers.
What would you do differently?:

Train!
Transition 1
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

21/43, 218/720. Longer than it felt, not sure where I lost the time, think it was the fact that my rack was right at the T1 entrance, literally 2-3 yards away and had a long run with the bike with the bike shoes on. Some day I'll learn to jump on and get up to speed with the shoes already mounted.
Bike
  • 41m 45s
  • 15.4 miles
  • 22.13 mile/hr
Comments:

This surprised me, last ride was 2 weeks ago. Used the light tailwind to push 23-25mph on the out and fought the tail wind for 20-22 on the return. Felt good the whole way, no leg issues at all.
What would you do differently?:

Train and go faster!
Transition 2
  • 00m 49s
Comments:

7/43, 106/720. Had another great jumping off the bike into a full run into T2 to the rack. Slipped on the shoes grabbed my belt and visor and was out.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Run
  • 28m 44s
  • 3.4 miles
  • 08m 27s  min/mile
Comments:

Bad run for me. Missed the 1/4 & 1/2mi markers I used in the past and went off of HR which was a mistake, thought 170 was high which is for a stand alone run Z4). But didn't think about running off of the bike with an elevated HR, pushed 180-188 after 2nd water station when I thought about the RPE wasn't close to being a 7-8. Lesson learned, forget the HRM next time and pay attention to the early distance markers.
What would you do differently?:

Run harder, really could have thinking about it in hindsight.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around a bit after finding my wife, water, massage, then had some pizza and beer and bs'd with the guys.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of committed training

Event comments:

Had a 15 min late start due to fire rescue/life guard issue.
