Swim
Comments: Horrible swim. Worried about conserving energy and swam way to slow! Not comfortable not being able to see in the water. Need more open water swim practices. What would you do differently?: Just swim! No need to conserve energy. The swim is my worst leg, just have to get through it as fast as possible. Transition 1
Comments: Probably could have been a little faster, but happy with my first triathlon transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing I can think of. Bike
Comments: The bottle holder mounted to my seat post came loose as I reached 72nd street. Had to stop, retrieve the bottles, pull my wrench and re-attach the bottle rack. What would you do differently?: Make sure every screw on the bike is tight in the pre race setup. Transition 2
Comments: Slower at this transition than others. I put on socks for the run which added additional time. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Had to stop and poop in a port-a-potty at the first mile. Felt much better afterwards. Knowing this would not be a great performance, I was able to relax and just run. What would you do differently?: Not poop? Post race
Warm down: Lots of walking and drinking water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nerves, lack of race experience. Held back too much on the swim, lost the bottle rack on the bike, about crapped my pants on the run. Lots of excuses, but overall felt pretty good. Happy with bike and run times considering the issues I had. Know the swim should have been faster. Event comments: Nothing to compare it to, but no complaints. Last updated: 2010-12-02 12:00 AM

Try to stay calm and don't forget anything. Setup the transition area and run through transitions in my head over and over.
Very little. Too nervous to do much. Just trying to stay calm.
