Run
Comments: Overall a really good race for me. Despite the hills I managed a new 1/2 marathon PR, over 15 min faster than previous! What would you do differently?: More training and more consistant training leading up to race day. The last 3-4 weeks of training were too sporadic. Post race
Warm down: 15 min of streching and walking around the finish expo. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of hill training; next time I need to focus more on the hills (both up and down). Event comments: Race check in was ok, finish expo was a nightmare. Too small of an area with no signs or guidance of any kind. Gear pickup was placed in the center of the whole area surrounded by lines to the bathrooms, lines for T-shirt pickup, and lines for the beer garden. Finding the right line was really difficult. The road surface in some areas was a little rough to run on, especially the final downhill to the finish line. I ended up overextending my knee coming down the hill and had to limp my way to the finish and sit around all day after will ice on it. Not good! Overall it was a good race, just a little dissapointing that this one is not as organized as the other 2 races of the SD 1/2 marathon triple crown. Last updated: 2010-12-02 12:00 AM

Up early, breakfast and out the door to ride the shuttle to the starting line.
Lots of streching, light jog, more streching, another light jog.
