Bike
Comments: 11 min of pain. That is the best way to describe this race. They didnt use the ramp this year. Instead, they had 4 people hold you up and push you off when it was your turn. I like this better. I sprinted around the first turn and dropped into aero position. My HR was already above my LT at this point. Hammered all the way down the hill and passed several people. Avg speed at turnaround was 30.34 mhp. Last year I was at 27.2 so much better already. Stood up to get back up to speed after turnaround. Really starting to feel the burn in my quads now. Next 2 miles will be painful and need to dig deep to keep pace up. Averaged 20.6 for 2nd half compared to 18.9 mph last year. Overall I cut 1 min from last years time. Very Happy with that. Last Year I used a road bike so not sure if improvement is result of using tri bike with aero wheels and helmet or due to improved fitness. Probably a little of both. I think downhill splits were better from being more aero and uphill was mostly due to fitness. What would you do differently?: A little better warmup Post race
Warm down: None really. Drank a water. Walked around and talked to a few friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough rest. Need more work on hills. Event comments: Great race and fun way to start the weekend. I lost my sun glasses somewhere near the finish and checked lost and found. She said nobody turned anything in yet, but I should check back in the morning because everyone is super nice and there is a good chance they will show up. Sure enough, they were there. That made my day. A big shout out to whomever turned them in! Last updated: 2010-12-03 12:00 AM

Arrived around 5pm and picked up race packets and then checked into Town Square Condo's. Went to country store and picked up a few things. Ate a Bagel with Peanut Butter and drank some HEED. Tried to rest for a little bit before the race.
Headed out around 6:15 for a warm up. I had a low bib number (55) so I would start earlier this year. Rode course and headed to start area.
