Pre-race routine:

Some oatbran cereral, banana. Race start at 0930 so got to sleep in a little.
Event warmup:

Shorty around streets, very congested with floats,horses, bands getting ready for parade to start at 10a.

Comments:

Kept a steady pace and only thing I wanted was a negative split. Done.
DNF. Do nothing foolish. like trying to PR too much at stake in 12 weeks.

Post race
Warm down:

Walked around post race lot for 15', picked up a bagel, water, banana. The muscle milk line was tooo long.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing

Event comments:

Great value, a tech shirt, pre and post race food/activities for kids, great volunteers, what a value for $25. This was my 2nd, did 5k last year, will be an annual race.
