Run
Comments: The run went great. 6 minute PR and a Boston Qualifier! I wasn't sure how my legs would feel just 5 weeks and limited training since the NYC marathon. I planned on just tryingto running even 7:25 pace and see how long I could make it. I hit hte 1/2 way mark in 1:36 even, and felt really good until about mile 20. I knew I had almost 49 minutes to run the last 10K. I thought about trying to slow down but decided to jsut run an even pace. With 3 miles to go, I was starting to hurt. I told myself to just keep running, even if it was a bit slower. Mile 24 hurt the worst, plus there wasn't a mile marker there. I didn't know how much I was slowing down. I hit the 25 mile mark with almost 11 minutes to make 3:15:59. I was surprised that I made it in 7:44, becaue I was shot at the end. What would you do differently?: Nothing. A 6 minute PR. This was the best, most consistent race I ahve had. Post race
Warm down: walked around the finish area for a few minutes, then went back and showered, and rushed back to baltimore to catch my flight. What limited your ability to perform faster: nothin Event comments: This was a great smaller race. 1400 racers between the full, half, adn 5K. The race start was on the Boardwalk and watching hte sun come up over hte ocean was beautiful. Everything went off on time, nice, flat course, loads of volunteers, very organized event. And ideal weather, who would have thought that would happen in December in Delaware? Last updated: 2010-12-07 12:00 AM
