Sunny
Total Time = 1h 03m 42s
Overall Rank = /750
Age Group = Master Clydes
Age Group Rank = 10/26
Pre-race routine:

3 4:57 3:04 10 26:59 1:17 12 27:28 1:03:42
Event warmup:

5 laps in the pool. I should have done a quick run of a 1/4 mile to peak my heart then a quick ride.
Swim
  • 04m 57s
  • 300 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had to pass several people and knocked hands with another.
What would you do differently?:

I would have gone out harder and hit the walls harder. I left some time in the pool, maybe 45 seconds to 1 minute.
Transition 1
  • 03m 4s
Comments:

I could not get my socks on and my shirt got stuck on my head and back.
What would you do differently?:

Different socks and not a long sleeve shirt
Bike
  • 26m 59s
  • 10 miles
  • 22.24 mile/hr
Comments:

I had to slow down due to a car turning and not noticing I was on their left.
What would you do differently?:

Go to arrow position. I kept my bike in a road bike set up.
Transition 2
  • 01m 17s
Comments:

Getting road shoes off was a miss. I missed grabbing the strap and it took two times each shoe to get them off. Then it forever to tie my shoes.

What would you do differently?:

I need to get no lace shoe laces.
Run
  • 27m 28s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

MAN did I cramp during the first couple houndred yards!! I had to stop and hit both my calves to get the crap to go away. I never felt like I got into a good rythem during my run.
What would you do differently?:

Run the way I practice. Mid foot at a higher cadence and more upright. I found that I was heel running and not standing upright. When I did I felt the run improve. But that took until mile 2.
Post race
Warm down:

Long walk then Moe's and a massage in the Triwilmington tent.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not working out enough in the past several weeks. I need to up my bike to more then once a week, run at a higher pace (intervals) once a week and longer run (5 miles+) in lieu of 4.3 mile.

Event comments:

Triwilmington team was one of the best decisions I have made in quite awhile.
