Swim
Comments: I didn't spot at all. swam wide at the 1st bouy, headed out to middle of lake and a spotter on a surf board stopped me and pointed the way. I was 50+ yards away from the swim course. I then again missed the bouy and had to correct to the finish. I think I left 2 minutes on the course. What would you do differently?: Look where the hell I was going. Oh, and not touch my goggles with greasy fingers. It messed up my vision. Transition 1
Comments: I dropped my goggles and swim hat on the run and had to stop and go back for them. What would you do differently?: More Vasoline on calves, ankles and heels. Bike
Comments: Picked up the pace on the second lap that was good compared to the first lap. What would you do differently?: Not sure. If I went harder up front I might have blown myself up on the second lap and killed my already weak run. Transition 2
Comments: Had to drink more prior to the run. What would you do differently?: try running without socks. Run
Comments: I'm not Forest Gump! I can keep a pace but not push much above that pace without blowing up. My goal is to hit 26 min, then 25. What would you do differently?: run faster, DUH! Post race
Warm down: walk, water and stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being a good runner Event comments: If it wasn't Mothers Day I would have my family with me because the lake is beautiful and they could have really enjoyed the event. 10 minute jog, 15 min stretch, 5 min run. I should have jumped on the bike but didn't. 10 minutes of swim & stretch.
