Run
Comments: Carnage. The roads were wet and full of puddles. It snowed for a little while at the beginning of the race. I did my best to keep my feet dry but it was a losing battle. I've been dealing with tendinitis in my left foot for almost two weeks. A smarter man would have probably sat the race out but I decided to go for it. I had a "medium" amount of pain which I'm sure contributed to my slow time but I also didn't feel like my legs or lungs were there either. I didn't drink much water before the race and ended up thirsty pretty quickly. I really liked the course. On a sunny day and strong legs, it would have been a blast but today, I suffered the entire time. This was my first 10K and between my bum foot and the distance, I managed to completely psych myself out. I have mixed feelings about my performance but I ran my race. I'm glad to get my first 10K under my belt and I feel like I learned some lessons. Onward and upwards. What would you do differently?: I would have drank more water before the race. Post race
Warm down: I grabbed a bottle of water and waited for my brother to finish the half-marathon. After he came in, we left pretty quickly and went to the hotel to get cleaned up and head home. What limited your ability to perform faster: My left heel and weak mental constitution. Event comments: I liked the race and will be back next year. Last updated: 2010-12-11 12:00 AM

I arrived Saturday night with my brother. We scooped up our packets and found our hotel (Hyannis Holiday Inn). We relaxed for a while and then went to dinner and to the movies at the mall. I went to bed around midnight and got up at 8. I had a Cliff bar and a Gu for breakfast. I had another Gu right before the race.
Nada. We found some parking and had about a 10 minute walk to the start. We stood around for 15 minutes and checked out the scenery before the race started.
