Swim
Comments: Water temperature was awesome as soon as we jumped in. I seated myself to the outside so I didn't have to worry about everyone swimming over me. I think it actually helped because I was able to manuever myself to be in the middle of the pack the majority of the swim. About halfway through the swim, I met up with my fellow teammate, Warren, and we kept pacing each other to finish. I passed a couple different colored caps but couldn't remember if they were in front of me or behind me but it definitely put some positive vibs mentally! Since Warren and I finished at the same time, we ran out to T1 together. It was good feeling to finish with a teammate. What would you do differently?: Not a whole lot I'd do different, just keep swimming to get faster. I was very content with this swim time. Transition 1
Comments: I had a hard time finding my row but once I found it, I got my bike shoes and helmet on and hit the road. I didn't spend much time in T1. The reason my times are long is because I was smack in the middle of transition and had to run a distance to get to my bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: The bike course was pretty flat, out and back just like they said. Only thing you had to battle that day was the wind. It was a cross wind which was in your head the whole way down and somewhat at your back helping you on the way back. My fuel plan went awesome. I ate a Clif bar the first hour and geled the rest. Geled every 20 minutes and hydrated every 15 minutes. What would you do differently?: Keep biking at longer distances to help gain some tolerance at biking for such long distances. Transition 2
Comments: Same as T1 but I was able to find my row a little faster. Got in and got out so I could start on the run. Legs felt good getting off the bike. I was a little worried at first but I told myself to put one leg in front of the other! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: I knew coming into the race the run would be my achilles heel but told myself to man up and that this was the easy part of the race. I think it helped. I ran the first loop continuously and drank water at every aid station. What would you do differently?: Run more long bricks. Post race
Warm down: Walked around to keep my heart rate low and drank lots of water and gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: I think doing longer bike rides and longer brick workouts would help me significantly. Event comments: Great race, definitely might try and do it again next year. Last updated: 2010-12-12 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:00 AM. Ate a bowl of Wheaties, a bagel with peanut butter spread, a 12 oz. bottle of Orange Juice. Met the team down in the hotel lobby at 4:45 AM and walked over to the transition area to set up.
My warm up was me running as fast as I could to the swim start. Jen and my family showed up really late so after I met up with them, I gave Jen my post race bag and then took off for the swim start -- which was about 1/4 mile away!! I made it with about 10 seconds to spare!!
