Run
Comments: My Goal was to run with my 55 year old nemesis. Unfortunately some other runners got in between us on a long technical downhill about half way thru the race. I don't know if I could have stayed with him I just know it was basically impossible to catch him thru the narrow trail with windfall and log stream crossings. What would you do differently?: I always have difficulties running the technical trails. I also did some walking on the steep trail sections. I don't know other than making me stronger if training for these types of events would benefit my road races. I made a comparison to my rankings at Horning’s Hideouts and Mt Hood Scramble. While I am placing higher in my road runs my Scramble times are not improving across my completion. I think I have just been over training and need to take a couple of weekends off and taper back my training. Post race
Warm down: Basically no warm down just looking for an O'Doul and a place to sit down. What limited your ability to perform faster: I would need to actually train on the hills and maybe some open forest area. I would need to decide if this is the best use of my time. Event comments: The two scrambles are always the most difficult for me. I did OK but I feel I do a better job on the roads. Maybe it is just the competition is more fierce. XDog post-race parties are always the best. Especially with Red Hook as a sponsor. Last updated: 2010-12-15 12:00 AM

Ate some cold Pizza and sipped on a Gatorade. I had some aspirin and a 5 Hour Shot in the last 20 minutes before the race start.
I did some light jogging about 20 minutes prior to the start of the race.
