Also put on a pair of bike shorts over tri short to increase padding for rough roads. They helped on this course.

Train for this with many more long runs.

Please. I jumped in the 70 degree lake. The the thunder showers started.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough long rides and runs.

Event comments:

Race delayed 40 minutes due to fog on lake. Well organized but HS volunteers had no idea what to do. I had an average race and tried to hold back bike pace was again too hot on the run. Ended up on a 5 min run and 1 min walk pace. Water and ice sponges every mile was much appreciated. Rain and lightning started just after I finished so didn't stick around long.
