Comments: I only decided to run this race 2 days earlier when my wife & friends saw it listed in the local paper while we were on vacation. They convinced me to do it just for something to do. I could tell I was still recovering from IMFL less than 3 weeks prior. My legs wouldn't move any faster, but I felt like I wasn't even breathing hard. I could have almost carried on a conversation. I tried getting my legs to go faster, but they weren't having any part of it. I've run faster 5K's during the run leg of sprint tris, but I still had fun today! What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Drink a bottle of water and walk around. We were hungry, so we left for breakfast, figuring my time wasn't fast enough for a medal. I only found out 3 days later when I checked online that I got 3rd in my AG. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not being in peak racing condition. Event comments: This was a well-run Turkey Trot. They had a 10K going on at the same time on mostly the same course, and they did a good job communicating which way each group was to go at turns.
