Run
Comments: Placed myself near the middle of the 9:00-9:10 minute/mile corral and kept and eye on the 4:00 marathon pace group. The strategy is to keep that group in sight and finish the race in under 2 hours. Drank more Gatorade than water because of my tendency to cramp later in the run. Took a Gu around mile 10 and stepped up the pace around mile 11 (based on my finish time, I think my pace started to drop between miles 6 and 10). Post race
Warm down: Wandered around the outfield, stretched, watched the first marathoners finish. ~20 minutes What limited your ability to perform faster: Missed a few water stations from miles 9 to 11, (mile 9) picked up a Gu from the right side of the road, water and gatorade were on the left - not motivated enough to cut across 20 people to get there, (mile 10) the tables were shorter than I thought they were and I missed the last person, (mile 11) happened to grab a cup with less water in it than the others, wouldn't have been an issue if I didn't miss the previous two stations. The mental game - do I have enough left over to push the pace a little more? Event comments: Hit my goal of a sub-2:00 half marathon. Last updated: 2010-12-23 12:00 AM

Night before - enjoyed some pizza and beer with the friends I was visiting.
Morning of - Woke up early (5AM) and drove an hour into Memphis, munched on s'more Pop Tarts and sipping some lime gatorade (not a delicious combination)
Light jog about 30 minutes before the race started.
