Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5am. Ate PBJ sandwich & coffee. Had a GU gel on the way down to the park. Used porta patty and checked in my bag with heavy jacket and pants. a light jog on the course and then waited at the start.
Event warmup:

jogged about 10 blocks from my car. Light jogged on the course for a half mile.

Comments:

This was my first race with Garmin FR 310xt and wanted to run under 7/min/mi. With the GPS watch letting me know what pace I'm running, I was able to run just under my target pace. Finished the race 19s faster than my last 5M race in October. Felt great and enjoyed the run despite the cold temp at 26F.
What would you do differently?:

not much.

Warm down:

Ate banana & bagel, walked about 10 blocks to my gym and stretched.

Event comments:

The NYRR staff said some of the volunteers were there from 4am to get the course ready for the race. Thanks a lot for your great support!

Course: Start on the East Drive just North of 99th Street and head North. Turn Left/West onto 102nd Street transverse and continue to the West Drive. Turn Left/South onto West Drive and continue around the southern end of the Park onto the East Drive to the finish on the East Drive near 99th Street.
