Pre-race routine:

Event warmup:

stand around and stretch a little it was raining on and off and I was trying to stay warm and dry
Swim
  • 18m 11s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 25s / 100 meters
Comments:

got bumped around a little at the start. Swam a good line for most of the race (sighting every 12-20 strokes)
What would you do differently?:

Need to get to the point of bilateral breathing as I do in training. just can not find that rhythm racing.
Transition 1
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

I was a little dizzy coming out of the water so took 10-20 seconds to walk

no wetsuit to take off--so I cruised through T2 which included the run from out of the water (~ 200-300 yards)

I did have a second of panic looking for my glass since I put them on top of my shoes to keep them dry and they slide of to the side.

56th OA
Bike
  • 36m 19s
  • 11 miles
  • 18.17 mile/hr
Comments:

I felt strong on the ride ad held back some due to road conditions....I lost concentration on one uphill where I could not find a nice cadence--results were better than expected
What would you do differently?:

stay focused
Transition 2
  • 01m 24s
Comments:

Dismounted and ran into T2.
Shoes went on wet feet well.

140th OA
What would you do differently?:

move a little quicker ;)
Run
  • 33m 7s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 41s  min/mile
Comments:

this part has tanked for me lately…. I know I have the fitness level so it is becoming more mental now. My GF told me I looked miserable leaving T2 going out on the run. I have a short choppy (kicking rock stride) so I think I need to think about my stride some.

Thankfully I had another race help me along on the way back. I had chased him down and passed him at the turn around--he got me to the finish.
What would you do differently?:

have confidence in fitness level and work on a better stride
Post race
Warm down:

finished and looked for the GF. The skies also opened up again so I got dressed and tried to stay warm and dry....

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weather/road conditions

My Run

Event comments:
