Swim
Comments: Quickest swim of my life... not saying much. Transition 1
Comments: Don't remember much about this. Completely changed outfit. Bike
Comments: Tried to take it easy and stay at a comfortable pace. It was really hot and I concentrated on staying hydrated for the run. Didn't stop for anything, just stayed on the bike and kept peddalling. Transition 2
Comments: Nearly thirteen minutes seems like a long time. I don't remember spending too much time doing anything in particular. I got out of my biking shorts and into running shorts. It seems like there are long distances to run between getting into and out of the transition. Run
Comments: This was a really hot run and I really faded on the back half of the race. Probably didn't run enough long runs in training. Ran the first 10-13 mile well. Then developed a walk-run over the back half of the run. I survived with no cramping and managed to stay hydrated. Overall, not to great, but could have been much worse. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, better trained for a long run. Event comments: Great course and well put on. It is likely to be really hot anytime you are in Louisville in August. This was one of those days. Last updated: 2010-12-28 12:00 AM

Get out of bed early. Eat toast with peanut butter. Sip water. Get to race.
None. I figure an hour swim is a good enough warm-up for a day of biking and running.
