Pre-race routine:

Got there pretty early, not quite when the transition opened, but still plenty early to get a good transition spot. It was raining and crappy, so I waited to set up my transition to avoid things getting totally soaked.
Event warmup:

Short run with Mark and Ryan, then a quick spin to go through the gears, then a short swim. Didn't matter though, with the time trial start I might as well have skipped the warm up. They kicked us out of transition at 7:30, and we had to stand around and wait to start until about 8:45, so I was completely freezing again by the time we raced, and the warm up was pretty meaningless.
Swim
  • 08m 29s
  • 500 meters
  • 01m 42s / 100 meters
Comments:

Nothing spectacular, but a solid swim. Felt sluggish going out, much better coming back in. Goal time was 8:30 with the run to T1, and I hit it exactly at 8:29.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 3s
Comments:

Good quick T1 for me. Faster than goal here, so I'm happy.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 38m 36s
  • 14.5 miles
  • 22.54 mile/hr
Comments:

Good ride. I could see that everyone was suffering in the total crap conditions, and it gave me extra incentive to push hard. I had one of the faster bike splits, so I'm happy with this ride. Goal pace was about 22 mph, and I went about 22.5.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, good ride.
Transition 2
  • 00m 38s
Comments:

Quick T2.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 21m 27s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Decent run. I wanted to PR here, and didn't quite hit it. Got an abdominal cramp in mile 2 that slowed me down a bit for about a half mile. Still, goal pace was 6:50/miles and I went 6:54, so not too bad.
What would you do differently?:

Don't know, that cramp was a big problem. I was able to breath it out, I just had to slow down to do it.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around and talk to everyone.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Conditions were pretty bad, but probably not a limiter. Overall a pretty good race to cap the season.

Event comments:

Glad to end the season with an AG win after suffering at the HIM. It's a small race, and winning AG isn't like winning at one of the Boulder races, but it still feels good. I was happy with my pacing too, especially since I had been sick early in the week and still feel run down from the half.
