Swim
Comments: Wetsuit, rented XL Zoot, seemed fine. Had trouble with the fit at the right tricept, tight. Didn't notice it after I started swimming. Had trouble siting because I wasn't freestyling. Started at the front which was fine. What would you do differently?: Hard to say. I hadn't swam distance before without stopping for a rest. Until I have, I don't know that there's much to comment on. Transition 1
Comments: I was dead getting out of the water. I walked out and up the hill quite a distance to T1. I didn't even start to take my WS off until I was half way there. I just had no energy. I even stubbed my big toe going up the hill and stumbled. Now it is sore as if it's sprained. Didn't notice it then. No trouble with the wet suit. Forgot about socks and they were in my running shoes. Very long transition to the bike mount area, I had to walk this too. What would you do differently?: Socks should be in the bike shoes. Had trouble see which side is up and put them both on wrong the first time. Fix that!!! Bike
Comments: Passed a lot of people on the course, lost track of the number but it was over 10. Felt good the whole time and could've gone further and faster. I was worried about the run and didn't want to burn myself out so I stayed comfortable. Love, love, love the ride! My back tire was a little low. What would you do differently?: Check my tires before taking the bike from the car. Arrive sooner at the race. Go harder and not worry about the run. Use the low bars more. Transition 2
Comments: Again, long distance to transition. Didn't run my bike. What would you do differently?: Was pretty fast at my actual rack. Only running to transition would improve my time. Run
Comments: Just had nothing left in the tank. It didn't feel cardio/SOB....just couldn't run for very long. What would you do differently?: More training, I'm hoping that works. Work on mental exercises to help keep me going. I don't like looking at my watch during the run, so I don't use it. Post race
Warm down: Walk about the vendor booths. What limited your ability to perform faster: Endurance! I feel like the swim took it all out of me. Event comments: Pretty well organized, well marked courses. Last updated: 2010-12-31 12:00 AM

Had 1/2 a cup of coffee, but no breakfast other than 1/2 a granola bar. That is not normal for me and I won't skip breakfast again. I was at a friends house and forgot to consider breakfast. :( The coffee didn't affect me in terms of nerves. I felt great without much anxiety inspite of this being my first OWS.
Swam a bit in the lake. Not really a warm up.
