Swim
Comments: i need more swim time....could have maybe cut off 5 minutes if i had proper swim training What would you do differently?: train more... Transition 1
Comments: took my time and did it right....i had 69.1 miles to go What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: head wind and a few hills benefited me because of my size and i was using my Trek Madone Road bike...hills and head winds killed alot of guys in my ag riding tribikes What would you do differently?: nothing planned my ride and rode my plan...(home court advantage) Transition 2
Comments: once again i knew i needed to take my time and let my body acclimate just a little so I took my time putting my shoes on and walked to the bike out grabbed a water drank it down and was off.. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I grew up on that run course (literally) it goes right by my mom and dads house so i knew just what to expect or so i thought...first time i have ever ran that course after biking 56 miles...two strikes against me from the get go... (1) i had to sit out running for the month of june achellies tendonitis which turned into bursitis..(2) underestimated the course, the heat, and biking prior, so i though i was pacing myself proper first 3 mile went at 22 minutes flat and then it hit me at mile 4...but i slowly went from an 8:50 mile from 4-5 back to at least an 8:15 the last 5... What would you do differently?: DONT UNDERESTIMATE THIS COURSE...PACE, PACE, PACE.... i rate my preformance as average due to not getting the miles in due to injury...i could have knocked 3 - 5 minutes off my time had i go to get those need miles in june... Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: (1) heel tendonitis prevented run training in june (2) swim training...I need more... Event comments: Best ran and organized race to date....although i would have liked to start my race before 8:30 a.m. to help beat some of the heat...START RACE SOONER....PROS left at 8 a.m. Last updated: 2011-01-01 12:00 AM
