Run
Comments: This was my second race and I was shooting for a 27" and I killed it!! I felt like I was running out of steam at 1/4 mile to finish. I had the legs, but my O2 was weak, which affected my legs. I started back in the pack and was passing people on the first mile with ease. I kept my pace pretty good for mile 2 with a little slow down for the turn around and trying to get H2O. I passed few more people and after mile 2 marker was chasing down guy in front of me who actually tied in time with me. Oh, and I killed it!!! What would you do differently?: Wear my fuel belt so I don't have to get H2O from aid station, this makes me slow and lose focus. Post race
Warm down: Just walked around for 4-5 min. and drank bottle of water with some light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: O2, I need to keep training and I believe that I can improve even more. Event comments: This was put on by racing underground and was a fun event. This was my first experience with timing chips. Overall this was a fun, successful event for people of all ages and abilities, I want to come back next year and win my AG !! I got up about 6am and had 20oz of water, and two fried eggs. I also had about 20 oz of protein shake and some more water. I drove about 1 hour up to Denver to get to race. Stopped and got a small decaf coffee and only had about three sips before arriving at race.
I walked about 5-7 min and then light run for about 1/4 mile then stretch. I then used port a pot for a quick wizz. I got in the pack for the 5k and was pretty ready to go.
