Comments:

From now on I will be in the front of any wave. This really caught me by surprise and has never happened before. Didn't mess me up, just a little disappointed I let it happen.
What would you do differently?:

Arrive early for the wave and get up front. I liked the Zogg goggles and used the Tyr the night before. No fogging issues at all, even with the overcast sky and dark lens, visibility was great.
Transition 1
  • 01m 37s
Comments:

Too many people clogging up the path and bikes sliding out.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Comments:

Happy with this ride.
What would you do differently?:

Really would not do anything different.
Transition 2
  • 01m 56s
Comments:

Thought my time would be better with this, but nothing happened to slow me down in T2.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 55m 15s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 54s  min/mile
Comments:

Besides my glutes acting up and a hilly course I did better than expected on the run portion of this course.
What would you do differently?:

I think using my tri bike and all the hill in this course caused my glutes to "burn"
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My glutes but I'm actually glad because I've been trying to get them to "fire" for well over a year.

Event comments:

Setup Events does a great job. Tried to get a massage, but there was a very long waiting list and most people on it did not get a massage.

Started swim late, I was in the tail of the wave and the horn went off and I was still wading (along with plenty of others!)
Suit:
Course: Nice temp for swim, got in my groove and just kept going. My time is way off from last year, starting late didn't help but there is something wrong and I think I'm going to have to connect with Lance Leo to see what's going on.

Felt very strong throughout the hilly course. Roads were great, Lake Norman Park had some sharp left turns on speedy descents.
Wind: Little
Course: Well marked and plenty of riders to negotiate. The biker ride was a lot of fun.

No Garmin, left it on the bike.
Course: Very hilly course. My glutes off the bike were never "burning" so much after a ride like this event. It took two miles before they started to settle down, which means I was not running all that fast. After mile 3 I was okay and picked up the pace.
