Wake up, get dressed (everything laid out the night before), use restroom, eat a banana and oatmeal and drive to the race start. Had a 5-hr energy drink walking from the car to the event.
Event warmup:

A little dynamic stretching and run to the start line after using the port-a-potty.

Comments:

Felt GREAT the first half! Planned on 9:30 run/00:30 walk intervals on a 9:00-9:15 m/mile pace. Skipped the first couple of intervals to get out onto the course. Finished 1/2 in just under 2 hrs and full of energy. Smiling, telling people they are doing great, giving thumbs up to people, thanking volunteers. After the turn-around, the hills started getting to me. Took more walk breaks, got a little tense and people started passing me. Cardio felt fine, but I just couldn't turn my legs over any faster.
What would you do differently?:

I should have trained more long hills, especially at the end of long runs. Need more mental discipline to keep moving on the hills even when I'm tired. 26.2 is a long-ass run!
Post race
Warm down:

Got water, sat down and relaxed for a bit. Whole body started to tingle, so I got up and kept moving to keep the blood circulating. Drank some more water, then went home and got a nice, warm shower.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I just wasn't prepared for the hills. Also, didn't have the mental discipline to push myself more but those hills were killers. I should have scoped out the course long ago (since it's local) to see how bad it was. OK, enough whining. Next year, faster and stronger!

Event comments:

This was my first marathon, and first running race over 5K. I feel like I prepped pretty well, but should have trained on more hills. It was really an awesome race, and I smiled for the whole thing. Definitely a tough 1st FM, but I'm glad I did it. I tried to keep track of what was happening at different distances, but I forgot everything already. Basically, I ran and it hurt.

I don't think I got 5 hours of energy out of that 5-hr Energy Drink. I got like 2.5. So, that was king of misleading. Luckily I also had gels with me. One more gel may have helped at the end. I wasn't sure I could stomach it though so I just kept it in my pocket. I didn't want to be 'that guy that puked at the marathon'.
