Comments: I could have done with another drink station, but then again, I'm a massive sook when it comes to drinks. I think I did alright without the water. I rolled my ankle on the road as well, which sucked. It's pretty sore now, and it's going to be sore tomorrow morning, but I ran the whole way. What would you do differently?: Try not to roll my ankle 2km in? Fail. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Water... Gatorade... Grapes... Sit on the grass and stretch. Walk back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of run training recently. But let's be honest, this is about where my fitness was in December last year when I did the fun run on my own (which I didn't run the whole way!!) so I think I am going to have a big winter =) Looking forward to it! Event comments: There were just toooooo many people for them to be as organised as the tris that I do... I guess in a way, they can't be, and I get that... I'd rather do a tri though. It was pretty cold this morning, and I don't do very well with the cold, let's be clear here.
I got up at about 6 to see my parents off, and then got dressed. I put everything out the night before, because I tend to forget things if I don't do it when I am sensible...
I left home, and I had on my 3/4 tights, event shirt, arm warmers, gloves, hoodie, and a headband.
I ditched the headband and hoodie in the car prior to walking down to the event.
We walked from the car to the site, went to the bathroom, and participated a little in the warmup with the strange lady that does the column in the paper.
Whatever. We were more interested in talking at this stage ;)
I turned the new iPhone onto music before I left, and secured the headphones in my bra strap so I didn't lose them ;)
