Pre-race routine:

Went with a bit more breakfast - 2 bowls of cereal and 2 toast/jam. Debated pants, but went with Zoot Ultra shorts, under armor, police tech then last chance short tech. Blue bike gloves, run hat and fuel belt with 1 water, 1 gator GU Brew I found in my closet.

Event warmup:

Quick 1k-ish out and back to get the circ going, then a run to the bathroom. Was still late to start so ended up near the back behind everyone.

Comments:

This was never an A race - just motivation to keep running over the winter and not gain weight. Kept arount 30-40k/week, but due to the terrible weatehr, our long runs kept getting cancelled. I think I managed 14-15 on the track.

What would you do differently?:

Long runs!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack long runs. 1 newborn at 4 months, toddler turning 3.

Event comments:

Because they were predicting terrible weather, only had 1 aid station, and several spots didn't have direction guides (chalk on the road helped though). Each wave got a brunch at Ft Calgary. Normally race starts/ends there but because of the ice and snow, they re-did the route to begin and end at the running room downtown. So you had to drive to the post-race.
