Pre-race routine:

Expectations were low due to tendentious flare for last two weeks. Went in with great attitude to just have fun.

Start of race I floated on back and relaxed. Great water clarity and a fun open water swim

Nothing- it was a great second triathlon experience.

enjoyed swim so much I was taking my time and more methodical. according to wife it was over 2 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

actually focus in transition

I was really enjoying myself and passing lots of people helped peak my confidence. I got aggressive in the single track and brought up my heart rate having to much fun.
What would you do differently?:

Save the jumps and hard cranking through the rough stuff for post race rides. I know I could ride this course faster next time.

Consume a gel prior to entering transition.

Felt the tendentious from the start but not as big a concern as the fatigue and lack of nutrition and hydration.
What would you do differently?:

Focus on speed and not play in the bike segment to reserve stamina for run. looking back I cuold have hydrated better in the bike to prep for the run.

Not confident in my abilities-- I learned a lot and can build on improving for next ear if course conditions are similar.
