Comments: Had a lot of fun. Perfect weather and a good sized crowd. Started off nice and easy and was able to pick it up each mile. I was towards the back so I was able to pass people till the end. Still getting used to the water stops and drinking on the run. Just need more practice. Ran out of gas towards the end, but picked it up for the last half mile. Someone in the crowd, at the end, yelled "Hey get those long legs movin'!". Hah! I wish I could have. What would you do differently?: Run faster! Post race
Warm down: Walk around on the beach and drank some water. Couldn't stomach any food right after the race so I grabbed some about 10 minutes later. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Will just keep plugging away. Event comments: Very well organized. Plenty of volunteers and police. Wide open streets to run on. Woke up around 5:20. Had my usual breakfast. Going to experiment with this as I was feeling bloated midway through race. Maybe light breakfast then a gel before race.
Walked to the registration, got my packet and walked back to car. Stripped off warmups and then jogged back to the start line about 10 minutes before start. About a mile warmup. Went with tank and shorts, cap and gloves. Was perfect given temps. A lot of people were peeling clothes off during the run. Only things that get cold are my hands and ears.
