Run
Comments: joe's first experience in BOP (he just taught me that acronym too, how timely). it's alright with me because i end up passing a lot of people toward the last 1/3 of the race, which is huge for morale :) i felt pretty decent for the race, but the last leg up the hill back to the community college was ROUGH. i probably wouldn't have pushed quite so hard without joe being my cheerleader (and i thanked him during the race with profanity - bless his heart). while i was pretty annoyed at the time that he was pushing me, i ended up feeling fine like a minute after the race so it turns out i could do it and not feel like death for the rest of the day. yes, this is me saying he was right. :) What would you do differently?: i felt a little dehydrated but i think i drank an appropriate amount in the morning. maybe should have drank more the night before. Post race
Warm down: just walked from start back to gym where the food was, then stretched after eating a nanner. felt pretty good, not too sore now, just a little fatigued feeling. What limited your ability to perform faster: my chest really hurt as i pushed up the hill the last mile or so. so, cardiovascular fitness. Event comments: my last 5k i ran at 11:55 min/mi, and this was about 11 min/mi, so i think i did pretty well. Last updated: 2011-01-09 12:00 AM

Got up at 7:45ish - Joe hit the snooze for me about eleven billion times. idk why I thought 7am was necessary - the race wasn't until 10 and wasn't very far away.
cinnamon cheerios for breakfast - was a little worried about how my tummy would do with that since it's got 4 or 5 grams of fiber and i'm a shy pooper/can't go in public places too often. tummy turned out to be unbothered. win.
Jogged from gym to start line, haha. probably not even .2 mi :) i'm not big on warming up since it's not really like a race to me and more just proof to myself that i can do a 5k.
