Run
Comments: Did a 3 minute walk, 2 minute run. Just kept to my race plan. I had only done two long training runs (an 8 miler and a 10 miler) since the first week of January- so I knew I was under trained. Decided if I felt pretty good I would run the last 3 miles and push it the last 2. That's what I did. Kept around a 11 mm up to mile 10. After mile 10 kept a 9:30 mm. What would you do differently?: Not have an injury and get to train. Ha! Post race
Event comments: It was at a new venue this year. Venue and course were fine. I hope in the upcoming years they figure out how to get people through the food line and into the T-shirt "room" quicker. The lines were horrible. The two t-shirts were nice though and the food was fine. I was just happy to park so close to the start line. Last updated: 2011-01-09 12:00 AM

Woke up early. Drove to Ft. Worth. Didn't train for this race due to injury (Achilles tendinitis since Sept 2010) so I was just going to get it done so I could get the 3rd year medal.
I picked up Toni (a gal I know through swim instruction). She had gotten my packet the day before, because I didn't realize that there was no race day packet pickup. She saved me for sure!
Parking was easy! I was 100 yards away from the start line. And I only paid $5 to park. That's what happens when you get to a race 1 hour early, and it's not a tri.
