Pre-race routine:

Stressed out! Not sure I laid out TA well.
Event warmup:

One lap in the pool (there's a diving pool).
Swim
  • 06m 40s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 13s / 100 yards
Comments:

Got some anxiety at times so I slowed down and concentrated on being relaxed.
Smacked my hand on the lane dividers when two people came towards me (a person was passing the person behind me). It was really crowded.
What would you do differently?:

Swim my faster pace.
Transition 1
  • 03m 41s
Comments:

Long run from pool to TA. Easy to get out of TA. Was still breathing hard when I was getting on the bike so I had to concentrate. I nice guy helped me get my bike out.
What would you do differently?:

Practice getting the bike off the rack. Have a better way of putting on my Garmin or just stick it in my shorts. Didn't put socks on which was fine on the bike but I got blisters from the run.
Bike
  • 32m 7s
  • 10 miles
  • 18.68 mile/hr
Comments:

Steady pace. Winds from all directions. Almost got hit by an oncoming car as I followed one person passing a car on the left and it was a curve in the road. Not a smart move.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder/faster. I was concerned about having enough legs for the run and as it turned out it was probably a good ride.
Transition 2
  • 01m 50s
Comments:

Tough to slide feet into shoes. Pretty fast transition though.
What would you do differently?:

Not sure about socks. I definately had blisters (more on right foot) by mile 1 or so.
Run
  • 28m 3s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

got blisters
What would you do differently?:

wear socks or figure out another plan.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nerves and unsure how hard to push during swim and bike.

Event comments:

Fantastic food and drinks at the finish area. People were really helpful.
