Run
Comments: I figured for a first run leg I shouldn't go too crazy, so I targted about 45 seconds above my 5k pace of 6:24. Pretty much nailed that. Felt good. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: 13/52 AG Transitions with a run-bike-run du are pretty simple. No issues. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: Despite not quite having figured out my re-programming of Garmin AutoMultiSport mode (I had no bike info - no MPH or Cadence), I felt this went pretty well. I hammered the hills pretty hard, especially the crests and just before long downhills - taking advantage of my knowledge of the course from last year. I felt a cramp coming on at the beginning of the second lap, so I downed a Salt Cap (from my newly purchased Salt Stick) and by the third lap I was feeling fine. What would you do differently?: nothing (other than get a better bike - same old story...). Beat my avg MPH from last year and equalled my time, despite the fact that the course this year was almost a mile longer :) Transition 2
Comments: 11/52 AG again with the easy run-bike-run transitions - didn't need to do much other than changes shoes and hats (helmet for running hat). What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: This run went very, very well. 1 min off my time from last year, plus I felt strong the whole time. I passed both of the racers I had had back-and-forth passing duels with on the bike. That felt awesome. Plus, I passed another racer I know of who (until this year) I had never beat before. I think I was only passed once on this run, but I passed a lot of runners. The last hill going into the stadium was tough but I ran up pretty fast all things considered. What would you do differently?: Nothing - this went exactly how I had hoped it would. Post race
Warm down: Cheered friends as they came into the track. Also chatted with a lot of folks. I had my usual cast of tri buddies with me plus a bunch of new friends I made this year in my local running group. It was great to see so many familiar faces at the race. What limited your ability to perform faster: Better bike - but that's always my excuse. I had a great time at this race. Event comments: Very well run race. I think I will do this again next year. Nation's is all the way downtown and way more crowded - who needs it! Last updated: 2011-01-13 12:00 AM

I did several laps around the track to warm up. I figure given this was going to be a run-bike-run Du I ought to get warm before sprinting through the first run (2.33 miles)
