Swim
  • 24m 48s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 31s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt like I did really well on the swim. Focused on staying relaxed and bi-lateral breathing.
Transition 1
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

Generally good T1. Suit got stuck on both heels.
Bike
  • 1h 15m 15s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.81 mile/hr
Comments:

Right out of the water and onto the bike my lower back was really tight. It didn't really loosen up until about a mile before the hill. I was not trying to torture myself for speed on this ride since it's just a training race (priority @C) and I wanted to be safe and enjoy it. I felt that the course was relatively tough, turns, rough roads inclines declines etc... feel like I can have a waaaayyy faster ride next year with proper cassette selection and knowing where I can put the throttle down, etc.

58th up the hill in 8:26. Avg power 286
What would you do differently?:

It was a fairly technical course. So I think that being familiar with it would help and I could have put a bit harder and stronger effort in.
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

Great T2. Nearly full speed dismount went flawlessly.
Run
  • 38m 2s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 06m 07s  min/mile
Comments:

I had a great run and had lots of people to be able to chase down and stay motivated:-)

Made one mistake when I caught the 5th place guy in my AG about 200 yards from the finish. I tried to hammer the pace and gut it out to the finish but he had more in the tank and kept his position.

Next time I need to tuck in and hammer it right before the line for the win:-)
Post race
Warm down:

No warmdown.

Event comments:

Was a great race. The only complaints I heard from others were about the uber controlled transition area. It was annoying to have to wait to get in for picking up gear, but they were making the experience the best for people still racing so I supported their strict transition area stuff.

Overall it was an excellently organized and fun event:-)
