Swim
Comments: No swim b/c of recent rains which caused debris and sewage in the river. Transition 1
Comments: This was my best start so far. I ran with my bike on the correct side. I had practice a flying mount last week, but I didn't try it in the race. 148/445 in AG Bike
Comments: I had to recalculate how hard I wanted to go on the bike since I had trained for this expecting to be tired from the swim. At the halfway point I thought that perhaps I was overclocking it too much. My HR was spending a whole lot of time in Z4, when I would have liked to have been at the upper range of Z3 a bit more in order to save some for the run. At the halfway point I dialed it back a bit and took advantage of easier roads and a little wind on the way back. What would you do differently?: I would penalize the jerks who were pack riding. Near the end of the ride I was caught by a dozen men that I had previously passed that were cheating and riding in formation. This kind of thing is absolutely ridiculous and this is the second year I've seen this happen. Transition 2
Comments: When I ran into transition the guy next to me had already had his bike racked. In the time it took him to get his shes on, I had competed my transition and took off running. Apparently my practice here paid off. 58/445 in AG Run
Comments: I was more tired than I had intended to be coming off the bike. I focused the first couple of miles on getting my HR into the top of Z3 b/c I knew I could sustain that pace for a long amount of time. What I didn't realize was that pace was going to be so quick. I was really happy with my time here, maybe even more so than the bike. Post race
Warm down: Run through the chute and collect a meal and towel. Grab some good eats (Qdoba) and talk to family. Event comments: It's not the fault of the RD that the swim was cxld, but its still completely bogus. This was my A race for the year, and it was totally anticlimactic. I wish they would penalize the pack riding that occurs on this course. Last updated: 2011-01-16 12:00 AM

Get up early and pack transition bag. Eat some granola and fail at using the lavatory. Setup transition area, and remembered to calibrate the power meter for a change.
None. Time trial start into the transition area since the swim portion had been scrapped. While entering the announcer called out Happy Birthday wishes to me which was pretty awesome. Apparently drcherrybomb21 had arranged that the day before at the Expo, for which I was greatly appreciative. She'd also written 'Today' under my age (35) on my leg which resulted in a lot of Happy Birthday wishes.
