Run
Comments: I wanted to use the race to develop patience and to not worry about my time. I was thinking and praying for other people who have been going through physical struggles. For the frist 2 miles, I was praying, especially for Sandy and her family. Consequently, I had a slow time, but I returned to enjoying jogging. I've been struggling and at times even disliking running. I also wanted to get into "triathlon" mindset where I have to think of endurance and getting into the "flow" experience (something I haven't been doing lately when running). Today, I was in the "flow." What would you do differently?: I probably could have run faster, especially on the last mile. But I'm glad that I held back and just tried to enjoy the race and not worry about the time. Post race
Warm down: I was pressed for time so I forgot to stretch. I had 1/2 bagel and a whey/banana smoothie when I got home. I took a shower, had a cup of coffee, and then when to Adam's Bistro for lunch. What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't get into a "race" mode. I just wanted to run and get into a "flow." Event comments: I am pumped to run again! I have not felt this way in a long time. Last updated: 2011-01-22 12:00 AM

Had problems sleeping and got out of bed at 6:40 (later than usual). Had oatmeal with honey, a hard-boiled egg and 1 1/2 cups of coffee.
Did very little warm-up this time. Jogged around a bit in the parking lot until Heather came and jogged a little downtown. I made sure I did active stretching with both my arms and my legs.
