  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

Had a really good swim, went totally to plan. Came out of water @34:00 and had a good jog up the hill to transition
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 02m 53s
Comments:

decent T1, nothing great. swam without top on, had it stuck a bit and someone helped me out getting it unstuck
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Bike
  • 2h 36m 43s
  • 56 miles
  • 21.44 mile/hr
Comments:

Good ride. Came out easy and built it up. Nice to have a tailwind heading north first before coming around for a long ride into a head/cross wind. Once we hit the turn west tail wind again, coming back was work but once that turn was made hit 22-37 mph most of the way back up. Last few miles a bit hilly, had plenty of gas to work those to come into T2
What would you do differently?:

nothing on bike, felt really comfortable. however, nutrition here may have screwed up my run?
Transition 2
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

Had a good T2, dismount was crowded, had to plow through a bit getting off bike.
What would you do differently?:

nothing, perfect.
Run
  • 2h 28m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 11m 18s  min/mile
Comments:

Disaster. Miles 1-3 went well, avg. about 8:00 and was planning to kick it up after 2nd right turn at second aide station. Stomach cramps came on like a demon, it was hell. Started with running to aide station to walk, then last 8 miles I hit each portojohn, nothing was working itself out. Finally was run/walking last 6 miles. I KNEW I could run, had the energy but when I'd go 400 yrds the cramps almost had be doubled over. Damn.
What would you do differently?:

You'd think after 6 years i would have this figured out. The only thing I can come up with is either too much Perpetum coming into T2, everything eles was training based nutrition.
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in cooling tent, I was chewed up.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nutrition.

Event comments:

I like this race, my ability to execute was the limiting factor.
