Pre-race routine:

Nothing unusual. Beautiful morning for a run.
Event warmup:

Probably 1/2 mile of jogging to warm up a tad. Muscles felt ok considering that this was a 40 mile week - biggest volume ever.

Comments:

Spectacular weather for running. Probably 45 at start and warmed up nicely from there. This was my biggest run volume week ever, so I wasn't sure what I was capable of. Decided to try and hold a good pace through mile 3 and pick it up on the way in.

I really wanted to get close to 35 minutes, but once we hit the first hill I knew that the terrain wouldn't let me have that.

Mile 3 was a bit of a disappointment, thought I could have done better there. Very rolly terrain, though. Maybe 10 seconds lost. Very happy with the last 2 miles. Sub 7s are always nice.

Felt pretty good after.
What would you do differently?:

Hit mile 3 a bit harder.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Large volume week. Still not too unhappy with the result.

Event comments:

One unmanned water station. Other than that it was a great race.
