Pre-race routine:

A bowl of Life cereal with Lactaid milk, a banana, and 12 oz of water.
Event warmup:

Traffic was bad getting to RFK. Only had a few minutes before start of race. Did a quick stretch and jumped in line.

Comments:

I was happy with the run. Lots of people, which I like, and going around some of DC's landmarks was fun. The only down side was the lack of mile markers. If they were there, they were not visible. Also, the finish line was a bit of a disaster. Tough to get to the food/water/medal.
What would you do differently?:

Metro in. Traffic was a nightmare (should have known that). Would have had more time to stretch and prepare for the race. Got there 5 minutes before the start.

This was my first National Race. I lied it. I'll run again next year but will be better prepared for traffic.
