Comments:

Was taking a breather at the first turn due to taking on a lot of water in a breath due to the chop. Grabbed hold of the bouy, flipped on to my back and my left hamstring tightened up. Pretty painful. Tried to swim on but wasn't getting anywhere. Had to be pulled out of the water because I couldn't climb into the boat. Didn't know if I'd fully pulled the hamstring or not, never having done that before. I knew that biking or running were out if I had so I scratched
What would you do differently?:

Swim was going pretty well apart from that

Event comments:

One telling remark from a couple of the course volunteers, when they asked me what I'd done. I said I didn't know if I'd pulled a hammy of just caught a cramp.
"Oh. Do we have a first aid tent?" one asked the other
"I don't know" was the reply
