![]() Swim
Comments: Cold! Wetsuuit would've been a good idea. The bay was choppy but I finished faster than my goal despite swimming slow and having to take a couple breaks. Swam against the current going out from the docks and with the current coming back. What would you do differently?: Wear a wetsuit. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Had to take 30 seconds to compose myself after a tough swim. No wetsuit to remove. Run with bike was good and jump onto bike was good. Took too long getting up to speed and feet in shoes. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Maybe push myself a little harder to shorten time in transition. ![]() Bike
Comments: Should've attacked the hills harder. The course was very narrow at points and made passing difficult at times. Was 3 minutes short of my goal pace but the new fit made for a much more comfortable ride. What would you do differently?: Attack the uphills harder. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Lost a shoe at dismount, which cost a few seconds. Also washed feet with bottle of water at bike rack. Would've been closer to or under 1 minute without those two things. Otherwise, a really good transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing ![]() Run
Comments: Way slower than anticipated. Expected to at least keep an 8:30 min/mile pace. What would you do differently?: Pick up the pace! ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked around, water and a banana. What limited your ability to perform faster: Probably the cold and rain. Hoping for better weather at the PHLY tri next month to compare. Event comments: It was a good race but definitely colder than I expected for May. The expo and post race activities were small but not bad for a first time race in Annapolis. Apple and peanut butter for breakfast. Set up transition and waited for start.
None. Froze in tri shorts in cold weather and rain. Had to wait an extra couple minutes in the water (~60 degrees) due to boat in the course.
