Run
Comments: I knew this was going to be a disaster, but I needed a kick in the ass. I was dehydrated, had GI issues and most of all- out of shape. I was able to get the spot in this race by pure luck 2 weeks ago. Anyways, I used this as a training run, not a race. My GI issues had gotten so bad I made a BR break at about mile 4. The course itself is always a bit unrelenting and you have to show up in shape to do well here. I enjoyed the run overall and the weather was better than in the past 2 years. I had to walk many of the hills and my calves were on fire. I saw some Llamas- that was cool. I was very happy to get to the finish line and know what needs to happen to get back in shape What would you do differently?: Be prepared Post race
Warm down: Quick stretch, some socializing, hot chocolate and egg casserole. For a small race, the post race is great. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lots of little excuses, but truly a lack of fitness Event comments: Still my favorite running race, which is why they sell out in 24 hours now. I have to be ready to register right on time next year Last updated: 2011-02-01 12:00 AM

Got up, drove to race, grabbed a gatorade and granola bar on the way in. My stomach was not feeling good, but decided to give it a go anyways and just have a training day.
