Run
Comments: Great run for me. First real race since back surgery in July 2010. Started race with the 3:20 marathon pace group. I ran with this group till mile 8 and they split off from me and went the other way on the trail to finish the rest of the marathon course. This started my race right where I wanted the pace was at about 7:40 per mile for the first 8 miles. After the pace group left I picked up the pace and started to raise the HR and kept the pace at about 7:29 per mile. I was looking to negative split the race and I was able to do that with a fast last 5 miles. I flet great the whole race. No GI issues. Felt great till mile 13 and I tried to push it but just didnt have more to give. Overall great race. It was a PR for me since I have never run a half marathon race. What would you do differently?: I think I might need to take one more gel to give me a the jump start toward the end of the race. Post race
Warm down: Slow jog to car to pick up more clothes. It was a cold windy day and needed to just warm up. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: Very organized race and a great race for a first timer. Last updated: 2011-02-01 12:00 AM

My goal was under 8:00 min miles. Had a PB&J sandwich at about 5:30. No morning coffee. This was a good choice.
Did a quick jog for about 4 min then a good stretch. At the starting line I had a hammer Gel.
