Run
Comments: Its ironic how living in ''Monterrey'' or ''mountain king'' we (runners here) always say the races are hilly, I shouldn't be making excuses but the place I usually train in is NOT hilly. will start hiking alot more up the unlimited amount of mountains we have here. went out conservative, hills warmed me up, went by 5k at 25.35, not bad, but I wanted to go under 50mins today. field was big and long, stretched out, I almost threw up with the gatorade. tasted horrible. I started pushing the pace at the 6k mark, terrain helped to for a while but I had the fear of burning out, I kept on as best as I could and came in at 51. not bad and I have a lot of work to do. If I drop 9 mins to my 10k time Id be placing in my AG so I think by the end of the year...maybe? even though I have run much faster for this distance than today, I learned alot. paced it right. never suffered too much. (maybe I should've?).didn't burn up on the hills, didn't burn up chasing unchaseable bunnies. had fun and got the time I expected with my training right now, and with last sundays 5k. What would you do differently?: nada. Post race
Warm down: went to look for my sister and ran with her her last km. :) What limited your ability to perform faster: training, but its only starting, 2nd race of the year and have a lot of work to do. Event comments: its by a radio station and it is a very famous race. lots of people, really nice. :) Last updated: 2011-02-02 12:00 AM
