Swim
Comments: Not a good swim. I did this event 2 years ago and was 3 minutes faster on the swim. Just never felt like I could push at all. And the swim is usually the only thing I am decent at. I really shouldnt complain but I have only done 3 swim workouts this year, so I shouldnt be surprised I wasnt worth a @#$%. What would you do differently?: Train. That might help. Transition 1
Comments: Long run to Transition from swim. What would you do differently?: Run faster. Hurry up. Practice. Bike
Comments: Felt just as bad on the bike as I did in the swim. Just never felt comfortable. Never got to where I could push. Got passed ALOT!!!!. Towards the end, women from the wave behind started zooming past me. Goodness, I gotta get better on the bike. Crazy thing is that my pace was dead on my training pace. This course is fast, I just never felt I was even doing my training pace. What would you do differently?: More consistent training. I gott a work on the engine. Transition 2
Comments: Kinda surprised at the slow time here. Didnt feel like I hung around for 3 minutes, but I did take the time to take a couple sips of water. What would you do differently?: Practice. I never practice transitions. Run
Comments: I am slow. I knew that going in. But after a crap swim and crap bike, I completed my trifecta and had a crap run. Just didnt feel strong enough to push through. What would you do differently?: Train more. Gotta do some speed work also. Post race
Warm down: Hung around with TJ and had a beer and that nasty Heed stuff. Bluuugggghh!. What limited your ability to perform faster: Too many holes in the training log. Bottom line. Event comments: SetUp always does a good job with races. Volunteers were numerous, crowd around Transition and at the finish were really good. The race itself was good, I just wasnt on this day. Oh, well, try again next year. Last updated: 2011-02-04 12:00 AM

Wasnt able to get prepared the night before with work and family obligations so I fumbled around in the dark of my house to get everything together. Ate a bowl of cereal at 4:15 AM.
This was my first race of the year and the confusion of the morning and getting everything packed did not help.
Not much of a warm up. Got set up, ran into a couple of friends and did some light stretching.
