Pre-race routine:

Goofed it with just 1/2 a pop tart and no time to use the facilities

Talked and got my feet wet felt very calm.

Comments:

I started at the back of the pack and had to slow down waiting for everybody. Finally, I just turned on the gas and started passing everybody. I could have knocked 2 minutes off my time.
What would you do differently?:

Don't start in the back.

There was a run transition and I did not want to risk running without shoes on concrete. I took my sweet time as you can see.
What would you do differently?:

Get organized, move faster, put compression socks on before swim.

First time on a tri bike and I felt comfortable. I was trying to conserve for the run. I could have pushed harder.
What would you do differently?:

Need to train more on the tri bike. My legs felt like someone pumped them with air by the time I got to the run. I was dying.

I was unable to run at first as my legs where blown up from the bike. When I finally hit the porto potty I was in heaven.

Run through the discomfort.

Massage it was great.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Never rode the bike before the event. First time in a aero position

Event comments:

I actually shaved 1 hour off my time from 2005. I was pleased with the effort and will use this as a building block to better things.
