Swim
Comments: A good effort, most of the swim was a slow and easy back stroke to take it easy and make sure I was able to finish. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time and made sure legs were fresh for the bike. I did manage to drop my bike walking out of transition. What would you do differently?: Not much, maybe run from water to bike and from the rack to the gate instead of walking. Bike
Comments: I was caught off gaurd a bit by the inclines at the start of the ride, once I had a couple miles in I found my pace and finished good. What would you do differently?: Be more aware of the inclines in the beginning. Transition 2
Comments: I wear my running shoe for the bike so there was no need to change, made for a fast transition, rack the bike, drop the helmet, grab the ball cap and number belt and go. What would you do differently?: Possibly wear my number on the bike to speed up transition. Run
Comments: Took off too fast in the first mile, finished it almost 4 minutes ahead of pace, slowed down for the second mile, by mile three my legs were just about dead, walked almost the entire thing. What would you do differently?: Work harder to hold to my pace and not just take off as soon as I hit the trail. Post race
Warm down: Losts of walking with some light stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor decisions on the run and not being completely ready for the bike. Event comments: A return to the race where I hurt my shoulder in 2010. I only rated the race overall a 4 because we have a local 5k that has Subway cater the post-race, a hard act to follow otherwise it was an excellent race. Last updated: 2011-02-08 12:00 AM

Showed up early and made sure I was parked close by. Racked my bike and gear and then left it alone, didn't obsess, instead I relaxed and thought through the race in my head.
No real warm up, a bit of walking and light stretching was all.
