Swim
Comments: I got to the front of my lane and got into an easy pace. On the 3rd length I allowed another swimmer pass me and then drafted off him for the rest of the swim. The time includes T1 which I did pretty quickly. Transition 1
Comments: The T1 time was included in swim time. Bike
Comments: I had nothing in my tank for this bike ride and just was unable to push it up the hills of Central Park. This was the 3rd race in three weeks and my bike legs were feeling it and just had no speed in them. What would you do differently?: Taper some more. Transition 2
Comments: Blew through T2 with the thought of catching the 3-4 runners I saw exiting T2 when I arrived on bike. Run
Comments: I saw a friend ahead of me on the run who I thought was in my age group. It turned out he was 39 but in this race they use actual age and he was in the 35-39 age group. I was pushing to catch him and caught him just after 1 mile. I then passed everyone that could be passed. I could have pushed it harder on the run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough taper. Event comments: I wished to have done better on bike but felt good on swim and run. It was enough to win age group. Last updated: 2011-02-08 12:00 AM
