Swim
Comments: The actual swim time was 8:15 which was about 30 seconds faster then last year. It was another 23 seconds to get out of pool, run down steps and cross the mat. What would you do differently?: Keep up the swim training. Transition 1
Comments: I did this as quick as possible and was only about 20 seconds off the lead transition times. The 20 seconds is because I am still putting my bike shoes on in transition instead of having them clipped on the bike. What would you do differently?: Learn how to get into bike shoes while on bike. Bike
Comments: I was working well on this bike ride. I had passed several people and then was passed by a person from my swim class. I then caught up to him and drafted him for most of the 2nd loop. I beat my time by about 3 minutes from last year. What would you do differently?: Keep up the training on bike. Transition 2
Comments: Can't be much faster and was 10th overall. Run
Comments: The heat was really beginning to pick up on the run. I had to stop at the mile 2 water station to take in water and then pour the 2nd cup over head. Kept my pace throughout and actually got stronger in last mile. Post race
Event comments: I have to be happy with a 6 minute improvement and a 2nd place in age group and 14th overall. The hard work is paying off. Last updated: 2011-02-08 12:00 AM

I rode my bike the 2 miles from my parents house to the transition area. I set up transition area, waiting on line for the portosan and then waited to go into the hot steamy pool.
