Run
Comments: First two or three miles were tough since I was not able to stretch or go to the bathroom before the race. Had to stop at the first porta-potty at mile 1. First three miles were around 12-13 min/mile pace to warm up my legs. Once I felt warmed up at the start of mile four I picked up the pace. Most of my training was on the treadmill so I was worried about pacing myself since I usually run faster than intended when I don't constantly monitor myself. My goal was even split or slightly faster second half, 2h12m total. Once I got in the groove at the 4th mile I think I did a great job pacing for my first race. Probably could've shaved 20-30 seconds/mile off my time but didn't want to push too hard for my first race. What would you do differently?: Arrive earlier and stretch. Post race
Warm down: Some light stretching and walking around the festival area for 20-30minutes What limited your ability to perform faster: Did not stretch before starting race. Event comments: I thought everything was great for my first race. Flat, easy course helped me focus on keeping the pace I wanted. Last updated: 2011-02-09 12:00 AM

Excited for my first race, woke up before my alarm.
Traffic into downtown was heavy so we arrived a few minutes late. Was not able to stretch, but had a 1/4 mile walk from the car to the starting line.
