Swim
Comments: wow, I was more tired than I thought I'd be for this swim. Just checked results by age group, and I had the 2nd fastest swim split in my age group!!! What would you do differently?: Avoid breaststroke, swim all freestyle. I did remember to take off the race belt this time, though I did see someone wearing theirs in the water. Transition 1
Comments: T1 --run to bike transition..faster than last years T1!! Bike
Comments: No rain this time, but man those head winds and cross winds...cross winds were blowing me all over the place, even on my little minnie bike, I couldn't imagine doing this with a disc or other "race" wheels. Faster than last year!! And it was a little longer, as transition was relocated from where it was last year. What would you do differently?: Be in aero more. Transition 2
Comments: T2-- bike to swim transition- a little slower than last year, may be due to wearing arm warmers for the run and bike in addition to the jacket, also remembering to remove race belt. Run
Comments: Run/walk paced around 11:30-12:00 min/mile according to Garmin..course also longer than last year and longer than listed above. Ran using Vibrams..no pain in shins, no foot falling asleep. Post race
Warm down: Pack up transition, rode to car, packed up car and left. What limited your ability to perform faster: Run fitness, wind on bike Event comments: Race was slightly longer this year due to construction on the base. Messed up and stopped my garmin instead of hitting lap going in to T1, fixed it coming out on the bike, so took the times from the results. Did see someone pass me on the bike with what looked like a BT on their calf. (edited to correct distances...current distances are from Garmin 310XT) Last updated: 2011-02-13 12:00 AM
